Casper is a 20ish year old Arabian who’s history involves surviving abuse and starvation at a Louisiana kill pen. He came to us via Rising Star Rescue. Casper struggles with anxiety and is understandably weary of people. He needed a sanctuary life where he can learn to trust and heal. Sponsor Casper

Clementine & Wesley are senior minis who came to us after their 97 year old owner was no longer able to care for them. Clementine is blind and very dependent on Wesley, they have a private stall and outdoor access together and will never be separated. Sponsor Clementine & Wesley

Dolly was found roaming loose with four other minis in rural PA. She’s 30+ and needs special treatment for Cushing’s and chronic eye issues. She’s an independent senior who has found companionship with her mini mate Jack. Sponsor Dolly

Dewey is a Shetland pony in his teens. He is our resident escape artist and has a silly, mischievous side, and we love him for it. Sponsor Dewey

Ducky is an early teens draft horse. He’s a quirky, anxious guy who is scared of many things in the world. The best future for him was sanctuary without any pressure to be ridden - he’s safe here being himself. Sponsor Ducky

Eno is a mid teens boy who struggles with navicular and body soreness. We watched him get passed along the riding “circuit” because he doesn’t stay sound easily, and we feared for his future. He’s safe at MMFS forever where we respect his preferences and his cuteness. Sponsor Eno

Honey is our golden angel. She is a Palomino who joined MMFS from a state surrender case where she was severely neglected and starved. Iceman is a late teens Frisian cross who once had a dressage career. Ice struggles with constant ulcers & anxiety, We do everything we can to make him more comfortable. He’s an absolute love who appreciates having a less stressful life. Sponsor Iceman

Jack is a senior mini who came to MMFS in 2024 after losing his best friend. Like many of our horses, Jack has Cushing’s, he also has a history of founder, laminitis, and breathing struggles. Mickey is a sweet pony in his early 20’s. In his earlier life, he worked pulling a cart in a therapeutic riding program for children who couldn’t physically ride. Like many of our horses, Mickey has Cushing’s and requires a special diet. Sponsor Mickey

Molly is a sweet quarter horse in her late teens. She struggles with Cushing’s and occasional laminitis and will live our her retirement with her friends. Sponsor Molly

Odie is a lovely palomino horse in his 20s. He is bonded with his besties Mickey and Dewey. He’s a quiet guy who loves attention and grooming. Sponsor Odie

Pluto is a survivor of the Premarin (PMU) industry. He came to us from Springhill Rescue many years ago and is now in his 20s. He’s a lovable gentleman who spends his days near Ducky, Zyden, and Iceman. Like many of our horses, he has Cushing’s. Sponsor Pluto

Romeo came to MMFS with Honey as part of a state surrender case. He had been severely neglected and starved. Romeo has regained his health much faster than Honey, but will retain the scars of neglect and starvation for the rest of his life. Sponsor Romeo

Rumi is Tessa’s daughter. She was adopted out to what was thought to be her forever home and rescued sick and starving. She is a young, spritely horse always found close to her mom. Sponsor Rumi

Tessa came to MMFS from Rising Star several years ago. She was found in a kill pen in Texas with a baby along her side and pregnant again. Her first baby stayed with the original rescue, and she moved to Rising Star where she had her second baby, Rumi. After years of separation, they were reunited at MMFS in 2023. Tizmas, is a retired Thoroughbred gelding who spent the first 9 years of life racing. After retiring, he was retrained as a Hunter/Jumper until an accident derailed his progress, & he faced a series of hardships. Tiz ended up at MMFS in 2024 with a body score of 2, a coffin bone infection, laminitis, ulcers, EPM, and West Nile Virus. Read more

Von is a purebred Icelandic horse (full name: Von frá Hvitanesi) who was born in 1995, and imported to the US in 2005 for breeding. When the breeder later shut down operations, they planned to sell the younger horses and euthanize the older ones. She is kind and gentle and stays close to Rumi and Tessa. Learn more Sponsor Von

Zydin is a retired Detroit police horse who was started as an Amish horse. He has an amazing soul, and probably has some serious stories he could tell all of us. He needed a quieter life after wood was abscessed out of his leg a few years ago. It was removed, and now he enjoys sanctuary life. Sponsor Zydin
