We are always seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help at Merrymac Farm Sanctuary!
Guidelines
Age 15 or older
Caring and compassionate attitude
Ability to work around animals
Animal Care Volunteers should commit to at least 1 shift per week
Shifts Available:
Farm Chores/General Animal Care
Shifts are available daily from 9am - noon
Classroom/Bunnies/Special Needs Animals
Shifts are available daily from 10 am - noon
Produce Pick up from Hannaford or Shaw’s in South Burlington
Shifts are available daily. Pick ups by 10 am
Examples of Volunteer tasks:
Clean Horse Stalls
Sweep/Rake Barn
Filly Water Buckets & Troughs/Scrub if Needed
Fill Hay Bags/Hay Feeders
Help Clean Animal Dishes
Clean Goat, Pig, or Sheep Areas
Brush Goats and Give them Love
Take Sheep for a Walk and Give Them Love
Clean Donkey Area
Take a Horse on a Walk
Give Cows Love and Treats (thru the fence)
Groom a Horse if Trained
Help in The Classroom with Rabbit Care, Bird Care, etc
Brush and Give Bunnies Love
Chop Produce for Animal Feeding
Pick Up Un-Sold Produce from the Grocery Store
How to get started
Sign up for a Volunteer Orientation below or on our Events Page. At orientation, you will get an introduction to the sanctuary and an opportunity to discuss how you can help. Please be sure to sign our waiver prior to visiting the sanctuary. We look forward to meeting you!
